This was a fun sequence to do. I happened upon this LEGO WALL•E rig online and knew I had to find a fun shot of him. While I've animated cameras in static scenes prior to this, I hadn't tracked any character with them. A simple maneuver, moving horizontally, but it was fun to get the same 'dynamic' look of WALL•E as in the original film.

I chose this shot from The Princess Diaries due to the simple static camera placement. Having never done a walking sequence, I decided to use a simple human rig to mimic the movement. With 4 distinct walking patterns, it was interesting to watch the clips 100 times and really pay attention to how the actresses naturally behaved (ie the 'bounce' and 'slouch' in each step).

After deciding to embark on an official character animation adventure, this was the first sequence I completed. Searching for simple character rigs online, I happened up on the rig shown here and knew I could do the sequence when the army of droids arrives on Naboo. Given that everything is 'robotic' and non-organic, I felt the mimicking would be straight-forward and fun for me to do.

After my internship with Walt Disney Imagineering was cut short due to the pandemic, I knew I wanted to keep growing my skill set with animated figure design and engineering. So I modeled animated and rendered this dark ride scene!

Most of the surfaces shown would have media projected onto them (think the factory/park transition in Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway at Disney's Hollywood Studios). My focus on this render was dusting off my timing skills, and exploring further what Maya has to offer for such a project. I was able to model using techniques I hadn't before, learn simple texturing and image placement, and play with lighting. While some aspects of this video aren't incredible, the project was overall a lot of fun to finally complete!
